Tucked away in the countryside of Cavan, Ontario, Century Barns feels like one of those places you stumble upon and immediately think, yes… this is it. With its beautifully restored barns, open skies, and thoughtfully cared-for grounds, the venue blends rustic charm with an effortless elegance that feels timeless rather than trendy.
While Century Barns sits outside my usual service range, it is one of those venues I will always happily travel for. I’m incredibly grateful to be a preferred vendor here, and it remains one of my absolute favourite places to photograph weddings. There’s a calm to the property, a sense that the day is meant to unfold here slowly and intentionally. Couples are able to host their entire wedding day on site, moving seamlessly from getting ready, to ceremony, to celebration, without ever feeling rushed or pulled away from the moment.
The ceremony options offer flexibility without sacrificing beauty. Outdoor ceremonies are surrounded by rolling countryside and thoughtfully maintained landscapes, while the indoor ceremony space feels warm, romantic, and filled with soft natural light. The reception barn, with its soaring ceilings, exposed beams, and neutral tones, becomes the perfect canvas for every kind of love story, from understated and classic to full fairytale romance.

The Century Barns team works seamlessly together, treats their staff with care, and creates an environment where vendors feel respected and welcomed. From a photographer’s perspective, Century Barns is a dream. The getting-ready space is perfect for quiet mornings, happy nerves, and those in-between moments that often become the most meaningful images. The grounds are always stunning, offering endless opportunities for portraits throughout the day without ever needing to leave the property.
There’s something about the way light moves across this venue, especially as the day turns to evening. Golden hour feels unforced here, portraits feel natural, and the space invites couples to simply be together rather than pose. Every wedding I photograph at Century Barns feels a little different, yet always carries the same sense of ease and intention.
