A Backyard Wedding Full of Heart
Kyle and Kelly were married on a bright September day in 2025, surrounded by golden fields, close friends, and so much love—right on Kyle’s family farm. It wasn’t just a wedding; it was a full-circle moment. I’ve known Kyle’s family through mine for years, and after so long apart, getting to reconnect and document this day for him and Kelly felt like such a privilege.
From the moment I arrived, I could see how much thought Kelly had poured into every detail. Her eye for design is unreal—what could’ve been “just a backyard” was completely transformed into something straight out of a wedding magazine. Every corner had a purpose. Every detail, intentional. It was warm, inviting, and so authentically them.
Their ceremony was held outdoors, intimate and emotional, officiated by a close friend to keep things personal. You could feel how much it meant—not just to Kyle and Kelly, but to everyone in attendance. The bridal party, with bridesmaids who felt more like sisters, was filled with laughter, happy tears, and so much love. This was a group that truly showed up for the couple, and it radiated all day long.
After the ceremony, they were joined by a very special guest—Willow, their sweet pup. He was the perfect addition to post-ceremony cuddles. And oh, that golden hour. We wandered into the fields just as the sun started to dip, and it felt like time slowed down. The light wrapped around them as they laughed, held each other close, and took in the first quiet moments of married life.
Backyard weddings like this are becoming some of my favorite days to photograph. They strip everything back and let the love—and the couple—shine through. Kyle and Kelly created a day that wasn’t about show, but about meaning. A wedding that was rooted in who they are and the people they love most.
